Lan-Yang Agricultural Development Foundation - Conceptual Event - 2026 Yilan Green Expo — “The Gezhi Treasure” Entering its 27th year, the Yilan Green Expo has become one of Yilan’s most iconic tourism and environmental education brands. Centered around green living, ecological conservation, and sustainable agriculture, the event combines cultural performances, environmental and sustainable education, and immersive outdoor experiences into a large-scale spring festival. The theme, “The Gezhi Treasure,” draws from the idea of exploring, observing, and analyzing the world in order to uncover deeper truths. Through 18 sustainability-themed exhibition zones and 19 interactive physical installations, visitors are invited to wander, observe, play, and engage with nature throughout the mountains, forests, rivers, and springs of Wulaokeng, discovering their own personal “treasures” of sustainability along the way. 2026 Green Expo features 18 sustainability exhibition zones and 19 interactive physical installations, transforming environmental education from one-way information delivery into an experience that can be explored through movement, play, and sensory interaction. For example, the ocean-themed pavilion “Azure Pulse” uses immersive lighting and spatial effects to guide visitors in understanding light, temperature, and pressure within marine environments. The forest pavilion “Cultivating the Forest Within” begins with observations of root systems, reshaping public imagination around the hidden life networks of forests. Meanwhile, the annual featured theatre production “The Fantastic Journey of the Soil Kingdom” transforms the concept of soil formation into a theatrical narrative, allowing soil to become more than a silent surface beneath our feet — it becomes a living protagonist filled with characters, stories, and vitality. The event also incorporates low-carbon interactive installations such as a human gyroscope, 360-degree bicycles, sea turtle trampolines, dream-weaving nets, wobbling balance structures, dual-rope swings, and space rings. Children are first drawn in through play, and knowledge naturally follows through participation. The theme song “May Dreams Bloom” also became one of the event’s emotional highlights. Sung in the Yilan dialect, its gentle native-language melody flows like a quiet stream, connecting local memory, environmental awareness, and intergenerational hopes for the future. Structured around 5 thematic categories, the exhibition features 18 curated zones exploring topics ranging from the conservation of Taiwan’s native and endemic species, immersive oceanic science experiences, craftsmanship and botanical aesthetics, sustainable agriculture and healing, life protection and environmental action, to smart adventure and kinetic interaction. Through themes including oceans, forests, soil, energy, agriculture, and life education, visitors are gradually guided into a deeper understanding of sustainability. The Wulaokeng Scenic Area in Su’ao, Yilan naturally features valleys, forests, rock formations, streams, and water-friendly landscapes. Historically known for its “Wulao Forest Springs,” the site has long been recognized as an ideal environment for ecological observation, outdoor education, and family recreation. The event was therefore intentionally situated here due to its expansive terrain, capable of accommodating large-scale pavilions, outdoor installations, performance stages, and interactive facilities. Each of the 18 exhibition zones addresses a specific environmental issue, gradually unfolding a comprehensive educational journey through topics including oceans, forests, soil, energy, carbon cycles, and biodiversity....
