Project description

Assemblage City demonstrates exceptional research depth and architectural imagination. This study was found to be highly successful in terms of expressing the design concept, the analyses conducted, and the methods of repurposing materials. Using the design to develop a different perspective on homeless individuals—a generally recognized societal issue—and addressing sustainability through the reuse of materials were considered highly positive. A small suggestion would be to further clarify the ethical framework of participation and long-term maintenance, so the project’s social impact can be understood as carefully as its spatial and material system. Overall, this is a powerful, critical, and conceptually mature public architecture proposal with strong urban relevance.
