Project description
This design employs traditional kite culture as a medium to re-establish the human–nature sensory relationship in the digital age. In contemporary life, which is heavily reliant on screens and virtual interactions, people are gradually losing their direct perception of wind, space, and bodily movement. Through a linkage mechanism between physical strings and digital projection, the project transforms invisible wind into perceivable and interactive visual experiences. Participants control the kite by pulling the string; real‑time tension changes are mapped to the kite’s orientation and dynamic color feedback, forming a continuous perceptual loop across tactile, kinesthetic, and visual modalities. The design breaks free from conventional constraints of weather and venue while preserving the physical experience of engaging with wind. Moreover, it reintegrates traditional culture into contemporary life in a digital, immersive manner, and explores a new symbiosis between humans and nature, as well as between tradition and technology.
