Unraveling the Soul
Artist Statement
Unraveling the Soul is a deeply personal exploration of anxiety, tension, and the quiet unraveling that often happens within. Through the fusion of hand-drawn imagery and free-motion embroidery, I use thread as a language of emotion—each stitch pulling from the depths of unspoken thoughts, each line tracing the fragile balance between holding on and letting go.
The sewing machine becomes my voice, trembling across fabric like a heartbeat, a whisper, a wound. With every layered thread, I attempt to untangle what lies beneath the surface—memories, fears, longing—and bring them into form. The act of stitching is both meditative and raw, a slow release of what the soul cannot say aloud.
This work invites the viewer not just to see, but to feel the tension, the stillness, and the slow, delicate process of becoming whole again—even as we unravel.
