Project description

This collection draws inspiration from Les Trois Ombres and Fugit Amor from Auguste Rodin’s The Gates of Hell. I was drawn to the way their bodies express emotions that remain unresolved—caught between resistance and surrender, attachment and loss.

I explore how desire can quietly seep beneath a seemingly calm surface, gradually eroding the self. Through an analysis of the sculptures’ forms, bodily gestures, and emotional narratives, these tensions are translated into the structure, silhouette, and materiality of two garments.

As the boundary between resistance and surrender begins to dissolve, one is drawn deeper into desire, step by step, ultimately opening The Gates of Hell within.
