Project description
Originally a bare-shell space of nearly 198.3 square meters, the project was designed for homeowners who deeply value family gatherings and wanted a residence that naturally welcomes friends and relatives. Grounded in the core themes of understated luxury and joyful gatherings, the design subtly weaves opulence into raw stone textures, metal detailing, and layered lighting. The lifestyle core integrates a KTV audiovisual room, a multi-functional mahjong room, a bar, and kitchen circulation, accommodating the varying rhythms of singing, gaming, dining, and conversation. Concurrently, the design maintains a distinct boundary between social and private areas, ensuring that vibrant social energy is properly accommodated while private relaxation remains undisturbed in a quiet sanctuary. The entrance sets a grand and commanding tone for the residence. The raw stone wall integrates citrine crystals and smart lighting, allowing a welcoming effect to be activated with a single tap on a smartphone. Light gently emerges from the depths of the stone texture, leaving a vivid impression on visitors while echoing the subtle, fluid luxury found throughout the space.
The living room extends this luxurious interplay of stone, mirrors, and lighting, featuring an electronic fireplace beneath the TV wall that provides both dehumidification and heating. The dining area mirrors this harmony through a circular ceiling, a round chandelier, and a round dining table; when family and friends gather around, it naturally sets the scene for lively, laughter-filled dinner parties.
The audiovisual room stands out as the most entertainment-focused space in the project. The designer incorporated acoustic cotton, imported sound-absorbing wall panels, and soundproof airtight doors, while introducing air conditioning, an ERV, and natural cross-ventilation via operable windows, allowing the owners to sing to their heart's content. The adjacent multi-functional room serves as a recreational space, incorporating auspicious imagery such as magpies, plums, orchids, bamboos, and chrysanthemums.
The space weaves a diverse, delicate hierarchy using raw stone, mirrors, ironwork, metallic film wraps, rose gold handles, and gold-leaf trim panels. Large expanses of stone establish a grounded, majestic presence, while metallic accents frame cabinets and walls like jewelry, ensuring the luxury feels curated rather than cluttered—revealing itself slowly as light shifts.
On either side of the ancestral altar, thin, lightweight ironwork forms the side walls, featuring custom textures painted by an artist to mimic fluid clouds and Volakas marble; this keeps the sacred space solemn, translucent, and stylish. The ceiling integrates back-painted glass with a timed smoke-exhaust system, allowing traditional worship rituals to coexist seamlessly with modern functionality.
Boasting an indoor area of 198.3 square meters, the site was combined and integrated from two adjacent apartment units. The designer designated one side as the primary social and entertainment hub, connecting the living room, dining room, bar, kitchen, audiovisual room, and multi-functional room to create a seamless gathering flow when guests visit. The other side layout accommodates the master bedroom, daughter’s room, boy’s room, and guest room, addressing the individual rest requirements of each family member. A custom sliding door is installed before the entrance to serve as the boundary between social and private areas, providing both privacy and acoustic insulation so that the home’s vibrant energy and quiet serenity can each have their proper place.Since moving in, the homeowners have found the convenience of the smart home system to be the most impactful feature. The lighting throughout the entire house can be controlled via smartphone, adapting rapidly to any scenario—from the foyer's welcoming mode and living-dining ambiance switches to brightness adjustments in different zones. When guests arrive, the lighting sets a ceremonial tone for the space; after the gathering ends, it effortlessly shifts back to a soft, calming home mode. For the hostess, the master walk-in closet is not only a vast storage space but also features a movable full-length mirror that accommodates her morning yoga routine, allowing daily life to unfold gracefully amidst light, body, and order.
