Project description

The visual identity system was developed to showcase the distinctive landscape and rich cultural heritage of the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area. Throughout the design process, we faced a key challenge of integrating local cultural elements and natural features into a contemporary visual language while creating a memorable identity that captures the area's diverse appeal and character. Beyond elevating the area's brand presence, this design solution addresses previous shortcomings in scenic area identification, helping to draw both domestic and international visitors and foster tourism growth and cultural exchange.

Drawing inspiration from iconic natural landmarks—the Queen's Head, Green Reef, and Guanyin Mountain—we created a distinctive visual identity for the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau. At the heart of the design lies the Queen's Head from the world-famous Yehliu Geopark, seamlessly integrated with the sweeping ridges of Mount Guanyin and the verdant Laomei Green Reef, creating a unique landscape.

The design incorporates geometric patterns inspired by the Green Reef alongside a vibrant color palette to reflect the rich diversity and vitality within the Scenic Area's jurisdiction. Each color carries specific meaning: light blue represents sky and clouds, orange-yellow captures the sunset glow, and emerald green symbolizes the natural ecosystem. These colors weave throughout the logo, representing the blend of cultures across different regions while highlighting the area's diversity and growth. The circular framework embodies both global appeal and sustainable vitality, reflecting the region's dynamic spirit and charm. This identity system was crafted to establish a brand that balances deep cultural significance with contemporary design, positioning the region distinctively within the global tourism landscape.
