Project description

This project draws its design inspiration from Kensington Palace, the royal residence beside London's Hyde Park, reinterpreting the classical architecture's elegant proportions, the play of light through its conservatories, and elements of Scottish plaid through a contemporary design vocabulary. Metal grilles, natural stone, and geometric lines are skillfully woven together to create a shared amenity space of understated luxury—one that carries classical depth while embodying a crisp, contemporary sensibility. At the same time, the design team moves beyond the conventional notion that communal facilities serve little real purpose, centering the plan instead on an expansive living room, dining-kitchen, and library. These generous public spaces become a natural extension of home life, accommodating residents' everyday needs for gathering, entertaining, and quiet reading alike.

Residents arrive through the front courtyard, passing water features, greenery, and public art before reaching the reception hall. The concierge desk is deliberately set to one side, preserving an unbroken central sightline that carries the eye from the outdoor water feature, across stone-carved flooring, through metal door casings, to rest finally on a sculpture of the huntress goddess at the terminus—a sequence of arrival that unfolds in deliberate, ceremonial layers.

Within the communal spaces, the grand living room draws on grounded stone, warm timber, and soft furnishings in warm tones to create a sense of enclosure, while framed landscape views extend the visual scale beyond its walls. The expansive dining-kitchen separates the flow of island-side conversation, meal preparation, and banquet service, integrating display storage and equipment to accommodate everything from casual family meals to formal entertaining. The library, anchored by a grand display wall, reading nook, and view-framing windows, forms a contemplative literary retreat—allowing the shared spaces to become a genuine extension of residents' everyday lives.

This project balances aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability, integrating Diamond-level Green Building, Low-Carbon Building, and Smart Building planning. Expansive glazing draws in natural daylight, while outdoor pools and planted balconies help regulate the interior climate, reducing energy consumption for air conditioning and lighting. Throughout, durable stone, timber elements, and premium materials cultivate an atmosphere of understated luxury—elevating residents' quality of life while safeguarding long-term value, and resulting in shared residential spaces that unite refined taste with a genuinely sustainable design philosophy.
