Project description

This artwork wasn’t planned in advance—I simply felt like drawing one day, so I picked up my pen and started sketching whatever came to mind. It’s a visual diary of my thoughts, emotions, imagination, and the things I love.

Some characters were inspired by what I observe in everyday life. Lately, I’ve noticed that many idols, classmates, and even strangers on the street wear sports jerseys with cropped pants—it seems to be a popular trend. I love how colorful and energetic this style looks, so I included it in my piece.

Other characters come from childhood memories. For example, Mr. Potato and Santa Claus are from the show Peppa Pig, and the carrot monster is a character I made up because I’ve never liked eating carrots. These ideas came from past school art projects and holiday themes. The clouds, lightning, and sun reflect my love for the sky, while the ballet girl represents memories of my dance performances. I still remember the feeling—nervous but excited.

Blue is my favorite color, so I made it the main tone of this painting. It feels like a dream—or maybe my own little universe.

Compared to writing, I prefer expressing myself through drawing. When I draw, I naturally recall the feelings of the moment. At school, we have a daily planner with a small space to write our reflections. I usually draw something that made me happy that day. As I focus on that memory, the negative feelings fade away. Drawing helps me stay connected to joy.
