Project description

C.Clipper is a nail clipper with an integrated stamp function, allowing children to practice nail trimming by stamping on their nails. Once the child becomes proficient, they can switch to the blade function to trim their nails. C.Clipper helps children gradually master nail trimming skills, reducing their fear of trimming nails, increasing confidence, and fostering self-care abilities.

◇ Design Background

Problem 1:

Children fear nail clipping: Among today's children, 3 out of 10 are afraid of failure, and nail clipping is one of their fears. Due to concerns about cutting their skin or unfamiliarity with the process, they often develop resistance.

Solution 1:

The C.Clipper integrates a stamp function, allowing children to practice marking their nails before using the actual blade. This helps them gradually become familiar with the shape of their nails and the stability of the operation. Once children can accurately mark their nails, they can switch to the real blade for clipping. This step-by-step approach helps children overcome their fear of nail clipping, reduces anxiety, boosts confidence, and makes the process easy and fun.

Problem 2:

Parents are busy with work and lack time to accompany their children: With many families now having dual-income households, parents often lack time to spend with their children and teach them how to clip their nails.

Solution 2:

The C.Clipper's stamp function allows children to practice independently without the need for parents to be present the whole time, helping them become familiar with the nail clipping process. Additionally, the stamp uses non-toxic ink, so parents don't need to worry if children accidentally touch or ingest it, giving them peace of mind while allowing children to operate the tool on their own.

Problem 3:

Parents are hesitant to let children clip their nails on their own: There is a lack of suitable nail clipping tools for teaching, making it challenging for parents to guide their children. Due to concerns about injury, parents are reluctant to let children take the lead, which prevents children from gaining opportunities for self-development.

Solution 3:

The C.Clipper allows children to first practice marking their nails with the stamp before using the actual blade, ensuring accurate clipping and reducing the risk of injury. Once children can confidently master the nail clipping technique, parents can feel more comfortable allowing them to clip their nails independently.
