Project description

Located on the third floor, the site surprisingly commands a lush view akin to a first-floor garden, seamlessly blending the foliage and light outside the French windows with the indoor atmosphere. Upon first entering the space, the designers were immediately captivated by the evergreen canopy outside. The core concept uses "Spring Light" to respond to the abundant natural illumination and vibrant greenery, while "Whispers" portrays the gentle dialogue between the residence and nature. Backed by the clients' deep trust, the designers maintained a steady rhythm throughout the process—from layout planning and material selection to furniture curation—to craft a modern home perfectly tailored for the couple and their two children. The most captivating highlight lies in the mutual borrowing of views between the interior and the outdoor scenery. The living room features large French windows that frame the park's lush greenery; when the sheer curtains are drawn, the interior feels gently embraced by the shadows of the trees. Under the soft light, the sofa, armchair, and coffee table coalesce into a living canvas for reading, relaxation, and accompanying the children as they grow.

The designers maintained a foundational palette of white, gray, and wood tones throughout the social area, adding focal points with localized accents of color. For instance, the blue-gray artistic paint wall adjacent to the study pairs beautifully with the client's collection of blue-toned oil paintings, ensuring the space is not only comfortable and stable but also imbued with a distinct personality.

Behind the dining area lies another crucial design intervention: a traditional Buddhist altar is seamlessly integrated into the dining space. Flanked by display cabinets and equipped with a hidden pull-out shelf underneath for use during worship, this design allows traditional faith to coexist harmoniously within a modern environment, serving as a meaningful core anchor for the family.

In terms of material selection, the designers extensively utilized engineered wood panels and laminate flooring instead of natural wood veneers. This approach reduces painting frequency and the consumption of natural resources while making future cleaning and maintenance much easier.

The spatial color palette relies on gray, white, wood tones, and natural light as its foundation, allowing the outdoor greenery to serve as the most vibrant primary color. For the main TV wall and the dining table, Carrara white sintered stone slabs were selected; their elegant texture featuring subtle golden veins implants a sophisticated touch of brilliance into the residence. The artistic paint features a blue-toned gray gradient, introducing localized color to the social area. This is echoed by the blue-dominant art paintings and small furnishings like blue, green, and yellow throw pillows, which introduce lively layers akin to the colorful feathers of a bird flashing through spring foliage.

The interior of this project measures approximately 148.8 square meters, configured into three bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and an open kitchen area, fully satisfying the daily needs of a couple and their two children. The living room uses the window view as its visual anchor, guiding natural light into the primary activity zone. The dining area connects the focal view of the Buddhist altar with the kitchen's functionality, ensuring that dining, worship, and storage can co-exist seamlessly along the same axis. The study area merges into the social area with an open posture, where the blue-gray artistic wall and a large-scale oil painting become the focal point, ensuring that reading, working, and family companionship are not confined to a single closed room. The client's feedback centers on the word "trust." From construction to furniture arrangement, the couple entrusted almost all decisions to the designers’ judgment, simply looking forward to moving into their new life smoothly upon completion.

Beyond the fixed interior construction, all furniture, including hanging paintings and accessories, was curated with the assistance of the designers. As a result, the space achieves exceptional harmony and artistic quality in terms of color balance and visual proportions.

As the spring light streams in, tree shadows whisper before the window frames. Children grow up within these walls, while adults gradually learn to live life with greater ease. The softness of "Whispers of Spring" naturally unfolds within this sanctuary.
